The counsel of Scripture is what we need. Wisdom must be acquired—it isn’t inherited. “Listen to counsel and receive instruction so you may be wise in your latter days” (Prov 19:20). Our nation has turned away from Scriptural wisdom and we’ve become a society without a divine viewpoint. Discretion from divine wisdom guards us, as individuals and as a nation (Prov 2:10). We need to have the supernatural power of God the Holy Spirit and God’s Word if we’re to make correct decisions in life. If we’re to be synchronized with God, we have to understand His plan for our lives. Humility is key. “Stop thinking of yourself in terms of arrogance but think in terms of humility as God has assigned to each one of us a standard of thinking from His Word” (Rom 12:3). Humility is a day-by-day decision to submit to the authority of the Word of God and to apply it in our lives. Humility to learn the mentality and the intentionality of Christ is critical for the coming crisis. “Blessed are those who put their trust in Him” (Ps 2:12).
