Description

If you think you’re having a bad day, remember this lesson on Job and your day won’t look so bad after all. The Bible records the history of Job who had the worst day ever. In just a few hours, maybe even one hour, everything Job had was taken away (his wealth, his children, his possession, his health), and yet he never cursed God. Through all this Job did not sin nor did he blame God. “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord” (Job 1:21). Adversity is inevitable and happens to all of us. Adversity is what circumstances do to you but the mental attitude sins of stress, worry, fear and anxiety are what you do to yourself. It doesn’t need to be this way. You can respond to adversity using the problem-solving device of the faith-rest drill and maintain a relaxed mental attitude. If you’re growing to spiritual maturity and acquiring the mind of Christ, you can handle adversity without freaking out.
