We have a national epidemic of lying in America. The motivation for all lying is deception. It’s a pattern of arrogance. The arrogant person seeks to deceive. Lying to self is one of the worst. Lying is listed twice in the seven sins God says He hates. “A lying tongue” (Prov 6:17) and “A false witness that speaks lies” (Prov 6:19). Lying started with Satan who is the father of all lies. Today there is an all-out effort to demonize Christians, marginalize their effectiveness, and stop them from having a voice in the public arena. “Who is the liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ?” (1 John 2:22).
