In God’s plan, a miss by an inch is as good as a miss by a mile. The only way to get to heaven is to do the will of the Father. “This is the will of the One who sent Me that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life” (John 6:40). Do you believe faith alone in Christ alone or do you add something to it? If you add things such as works, baptism, being good, or giving money to the church, you’ve missed salvation. God is not impressed with our good deeds. The only way you can go to heaven and avoid the Lake of Fire is to have the same righteousness that God has and the only way you can get it is through the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross. When you come to Christ through faith alone in Christ Alone this righteousness is imputed to you so that when God looks at you, He sees the righteousness of Christ in you. “He that knew no sin was made sin for us so that we may be made the righteousness of God through Him” (2 Cor 5:21).
