Personal love for God is your greatest motivation. ”You shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all of your soul and with all of your mind. This is the first mandate.” (Matt 22:37). The only way to love God is to know Him and to understand Him. When God’s Word is taught, the rain comes and nourishes and your spiritual life grows. The love test—if you love God you will obey Him. “If you love Me, you will obey Me” (1 John 5:3). Without personal love for God, there’s no motivation to study, grow or glorify Him. “Though you have not seen Him, you love Him ... you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory” (1 Pet 1:8).
