Christians are to have a stable mindset. Get rid of fear, doubt, depression and loneliness. You don’t want to be on "the my-way highway" because it's the road to destruction. The greatest enemy you have is yourself. You are what you think, and you will be the product of your decisions. “As a man thinks in his heart, so he is” (Prov 23:7). If you think with your emotions you’ll have a life of misery, always blaming others for your own unhappiness. Desperate people do desperate things. There is a solution. Our Lord faced tremendous challenges when He walked this earth. You have the same resources He had and used. Our Lord never complained, never felt hopeless. He told the disciples if they would learn from Him, they would have “My joy in you and your joy could be made full” (John 15:11). Think with a divine viewpoint—that’s the solution. Guilt is a sin and motivates many failures in the spiritual life. Get rid of guilt, self-pity, rebound, don’t look back, and move forward by growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (2 Pet. 3:18). Take in God’s Word, learn it, and apply it to your life. That’s how to stay off The Road to Destruction.
