Jesus Christ was subjected to six illegal trials, beaten beyond recognition, found not guilty by Pilate, yet sentenced and crucified. The next time you receive unjust treatment or think you’ve been disrespected, recall the horrific ordeal of your Savior, and what He endured to provide your means of salvation. Perspective. “For this I have been born, and for this I have come into this world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice” (John 18:37). It is through Jesus Christ’s spiritual death on the cross, being identified with the sins of mankind, that we have salvation. He paid our penalty. “He who knew no sin was made sin for us” (2 Cor 5:21). “Whoever receives Him has the power to become the sons of God, even to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12). Jesus Christ walked out of the grave alive and He is alive today. This is the meaning of Easter.
