The Modern Christian Church brainwashed many of us from a young age with Purity Culture. The Christian leaders who pushed books like "I Kissed Dating Goodbye"* on young teens wouldn't call it brainwashing, in fact, they wouldn't use the term, "Purity Culture" at all, they would call it "being godly", but Purity Culture Survivors would argue this.
As someone from the LGBTQIA+ 🏳️🌈 Community, as well as a victim of Purity Culture myself, I can say with 100% certainty that these teachings are EVIL.

*Joshua Harris, author of "I Kissed Dating Goodbye", has abandoned his Purity Culture teachings in recent years, and has since apologized for the damage caused, making it a priority to openly speak about how harmful Purity Culture is, attempting to vindicate the victims.
