Please join me in welcoming Fiona Logan, CEO of Insights global people development company, to the show this week.

Partial Transcript:

Shelley: Great. A women after my own heart.
You just never know what's around the corner, and I love that. Fiona, can I
just ask you just for everybody who many people listening to this will know
about Insights, but we have a global audience. so some people won't tell us a
bit about the Insights as the company. Tell us what they do, who you are.

Fiona: So we work to increase people's
awareness of self and others through a personality profiling solution. And we
work with large organizations to enhance teamwork and leadership. We do big,
programs across lots of different countries with our customers. And it started
all here in Dundee with a father and son in the late 90s, mid to late 90s. So
we've been going for 30, 35 years now, and the growth the company has
experienced has been fantastic. And, yeah, what else to say? I joined about
eight years ago, the first three of those as Chief Operating officer, and the
last four and a half, five years as Chief executive officer. So I also sit on
the board of our holding company, as well as running, Insights Learning
Development as well. So we have a, ah, team now of around 600 and 5700 people
globally. When I joined the organization, the shareholders had done an amazing
job of owning and managing the business to about, 25, 30 million. And in the
last five, six, seven years, we've grown that, too. We'll close this year just
shy of 90 million. And the profits also with an increasing operating profit.
And we're a very profitable business. So, yeah, our customers love us. We're
more of a movement than a company. We talk a lot, of course, about people being
at the heart of every organization. We really, really care about our customers.
And we've got this opaque line between people who work for Insights and people
who work as practitioners of Insights Discovery, which is our flagship
offering. And yeah, the customer events we go to are just like huge, big family
gatherings. We've got this amazing feel about us as an organization. Our
customers love us and we love them. and we're very much focused on people at
the heart of company success.

Shelley: That's absolutely brilliant. As a
Dundonian, Very proud Dundonian. I am hugely proud of what Insights have
achieved. And obviously we've worked together in recent years. Fiona, I'm very
much an advocate of everything that you do. And as we say here in Dundee,
you're the woman. You're the woman in insight. So you're managing 650 to 700
people, is that right?

Fiona: Yeah.

Shelley: That's incredible. And they're
global and you're local, so see from women to women here, and I know we're on a
podcast here, but Fiona, you are a huge inspiration to me. You really are the
ultimate role model. If I was looking for a female to come onto this podcast
with, that did inspire me. That's making waves in the world and doing it by
supporting people to be the best they can be. You are, the pinnacle of that. I
absolutely love what you do, and who you are. So it's great to have you on the
podcast. But see, to have these chats with somebody that's doing the work that
you're doing, everybody's got to be all over that. This is the kind of stuff we
need to hear every day. Every day. Watching the news and all the doom and
stories like this are, what we need to be hearing.
