TMNT Shellcast counters takes in "The Fifth Turtle" from season 3 episode 8 of the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series. In the episode, Donatello's astronomical prowess is interrupted by a midnight grocery trip and a young boy named Zach, who wants to help the Turtles fight crime. Despite some early mishaps, Zach perseveres to help the Turtles defeat Krang and Shredder's plan to re-power the Technodrome using stolen crystals and sunlight from a rare planetary conjunction. Zach is named an ally and honorary member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
