On today's episode we are joined by Zack Jones. Zack is the Phillies FCL Hitting Initiatives coach currently working out of Clearwater, FL. Off days are few and far between for the pros and we are blessed that Zack decided to join it with us. It shows how important this topic is to him and the sports community at large. While speaking we touched on quite a few different topics, trusting the process, relying on your parents, and taking a step back to realize that above all, I am a person and not just an athlete. This is where Zack's keep going moment came from the time in college where he had to remind himself that, while he was a college athlete, he was not just an athlete. He was more than that. He did not have mental health at the front of his mind back then which is a reason he felt compelled to come on today and support any current athlete wanting to learn more about mental health and trying to get out of mental and hitting slumps while playing America's pastime.
Social media shout out: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cq1UlMZJz0f/ Today our social media shout out was Suny Cortland Football Program for their partner ship with No Empty Seats. They wore bracelets this week that highlighted the importance of always speaking to someone when you feel down or not your best.
Charity of the week: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cq-woBorxK-/ Our charity of the week is Resilience Rally's partnership with Words I wish I'd Heard. We shouted these guys out last week and they came back to back with another important cause. They raise awareness for suicide around the country and this 5K and the funds associated support de-stigmatizing mental health.
