The Gospel today invites us to approach the Father with empty hands, with absolutely nothing. Relying not on ourselves, our own powers, or anything we do, but truly abandoning ourselves into the hands of God. It's a scary thing! But only by being broken down like the tax collector can we truly allow God to work through us in our own lives.
