Homily for the Second Sunday of Advent
Let no earthly undertaking hinder us from setting out to meet Jesus or from allowing Jesus to come into our hearts. John the Baptist is inviting us to reflect on where in our life do we need to change in direction so that we could be facing towards the one and only thing that actually matters. The only thing that will actually satisfy. We need to ask ourselves, where in our life do we need to recommit and reorient ourselves because the reason why most of us struggle with sin is that it masquerades as something good.
During Advent, ask yourselves where am I running? Am I running towards something that is not going to satisfy me and will leave me longing for more, or will I reorient my entire life to him, so that in him, I will find the satisfaction and peace that my heart is searching for?
