Today I have the pleasure of bringing you the first episode of this summer’s “Summer School” series where for the next two months, each episode will be a conversation with a language teacher.
In this first episode of the series, I’m talking with Jessica of French Sunny Side. Jessica is a french language teacher and mindfulness coach who helps her students to find their authentic voice in the French language. In this episode we discuss her early experiences with language learning growing up in Belgium, her experience with the Vietnamese language while living abroad and she explains her views on how anyone can have success learning a language through mindfulness and examining the way they relate to the language.
Over and over throughout this episode I found myself actively stopping myself from gasping because Jessica’s perspective is one that I’d never considered even while I’d been experiencing my own struggle with learning the French language. This conversation contains some of the biggest revelations of my life. If I’d only met Jessica 10 years ago, I would have saved myself loads of agony.
