Esther talks to us about growing up with Spanish as her first language in the US. She shares her connections to her Basque heritage through her parents and how the heritage was a part of her upbringing. She tells us about the Basque communities in the Western U.S. and how she started on her own journey to learning the language and eventually to teaching it. Esther tells us some wonderful stories on the people and experiences she encountered as she was learning the language. And for those of you who are learning Euskera or curious about how to speak it, Esther is sharing a few helpful tips that can help you understand the language.
