Early Life: Born and raised in Augusta, GA, home of the famous musician, James Brown. Grew up listening to all the greats from all genres of music. Shelton often would purchase music cassettes and give as gifts to parents. Mom’s favorite was Aretha Franklin. In love with music his whole life, Shelton started as a DJ in 2008. Initially it was just for fun, and eventually became a business. Some of the early events included those through word of mouth while living in Abilene, Texas. After relocating to Charlotte, NC, Shelton eventually became known as DJ Shel-Rock aka “Spotty McFly”. DJ Shel-Rock has worked corporate gigs for popular Charlotte-based, Pick 42 Mobile DJ’s (company). Some gigs included parties held at Ritz Carlton, Trump National Golf Club, and Christian Day School. DJ Shelrock enjoys entertaining and has so many great opportunities such as playing at pop up shops, middle/high school football games, weddings, sweet 16 parties, company parties and many other events. All genres of music are played as customer requests. Favorite saying, “music is my weapon”. Received first controller as a gift from wife in 2008 Hired to provided music entertainment for first Quinceañera in Abilene, Texas. Played mostly all Cumbia music as requested. Repeat customer, Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, hired in 2019, 2020 for CIAA event held in Charlotte, NC
