In this episode, Eric and Jim begin their first of a three-part series on Lieutenant General James Longstreet who commanded the First Corps of the Army of Northern Virginia at Gettysburg.  Part One is a deep dive into the period of Longstreet's life from his birth in South Carolina to the end of 1862 and what we can learn from Longstreet's life to give a proper context to his actions in July 1863.
