Julie McGill, a Vancouver based private equity investor. Julie joined Fulmer Capital Partners as the managing partner in 2016. Fulmer is a boutique private equity firm focused on small to medium sized enterprises in Western Canada. Prior to that, she was a Director at CAI Capital Management, a North American focused leveraged buy-out fund focused on the mid-market.
Julie’s professional journey is not a common one, prior to entering the PE industry Julie spent many years in accounting firms. Over the years she has acquired a multitude of skills and experience to help her understand what it takes to successfully acquire and scale a private company; everything from the technical skills of accounting, tax, and business valuation, to the softer skills required to develop the relationships, network and experience to navigate a company’s growth journey.
In addition to her current role, Julie continues to put her passion to engage more women in equity investing by encouraging them to roll up their sleeves and dive in. She is currently working with several like-minded women in Vancouver to found the Vancouver chapter of the Women’s Equity Lab. WEL is an angel investment group whose purpose is to bring together female accredited investors to pool capital and expertise. They expect the formal launch of the chapter later this fall.
