With my ambition of becoming a competitive shooter I needed to know what gear to have so I started looking and researching. I even called some of the organizations to ask their personnel.
Here are some possible items that might be included on a competitive shooter's equipment list:
- A reliable firearm, such as a pistol or rifle, that is suitable for the type of competition you will be participating in.
- A sturdy holster or rifle sling to securely hold your firearm while you are shooting. With this you'll need a good gun belt so check out these ones:

- Extra magazines or speed loaders to quickly reload your firearm during a competition.
- Eye and ear protection to protect yourself from the noise and debris generated by shooting.
- A shooting mat or bench to provide a stable platform for shooting from.
- A spotting scope or binoculars to help you see and evaluate your shots.
- A shooting timer to help you track your times and improve your speed.
- Targets and target stands for practicing and competing.
- Cleaning supplies to keep your firearm in good working condition.
- A range bag or backpack to carry all of your gear to and from the range.
It's important to note that different competitions may have specific rules or requirements for equipment, so it's always a good idea to check with the organizers before you participate.
