Matthew 20:28 (NIV)
Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.
Christ exemplified the true nature and attitude of what it means to serve. Imagine the King of glory from ages past, the one who holds time in his hands, at one point decided to step into time for the sake of reconciling man back to himself. Jesus did not consider His status; He was determined to win back mankind and took it upon Himself to do it as a servant.
When you live a life of servitude, you show Christ's nature. In Christ, we are called to serve. That is why He said if you want to be the greatest in the kingdom, you must learn how to serve. The very act of emptying oneself should be your mindset today. A true leader always leads by example, which is the form of servitude we are called to illustrate.
The scripture for today is very powerful in that Jesus Christ, the Maker of Heaven and Earth, the Creator Himself steps into creation to serve the very thing He has made. That is so humbling. When we grasp the impact of Jesus taking on the form of a servant, then we are ready for ministry.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I am called to serve, and I am ready to serve. Christ is my example, and nothing by any means shall hold me back from doing ministry work. I am empowered in the service of God with the clear vision of making Hell empty and Heaven full. Hallelujah!
