1 John 3:15 (KJV)
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
I cannot tell you how many times I have come across people who hate each other yet sit in the same church, listen to the same Word, sing the same songs, and go home unchanged. Some are even family members, fighting all week but still heading to the house of the Lord in their Sunday best.
If we take today’s verse literally, a sobering question comes to mind: how many murderers are in the church today? People harbouring grudges, some ten years old or more, while claiming to have the very life of Christ within them.
Jesus gave one commandment: love one another. It’s no surprise He takes such a strong stance on hate; it’s the direct opposite of His command.
It’s a new year. Learn to love, start now!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I prophesy a brand-new life soaked in love. I shall never harbour hate another day in this Year of Strange Oil in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
