2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Even though Christ came to save us through His death and resurrection, many Christians are still plagued by their past mistakes and face the ramifications for them long after they have been saved. While this is a reality many have become accustomed to, this was never God’s intention for your life. The reason for this is many have not fully grasped the concept of forgiveness. When God forgave us on the cross, He expunged the record of all our prior offences.
In the world of criminal law, when someone is exonerated, their record of past crimes is cleared, and their innocence is declared. This is what Christ did for you on the cross. He exonerated you from all your past sins, erasing all your wrongdoing. You are not a victim of your past mistakes; you are a new creature in Christ, and old things have passed away. Your past can never define you!
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I thank God that yesterday is gone. I am a new creature in Christ, and there is no record of my past mistakes or offences. My future is bright; thank You, Lord Jesus! Amen.
