Philippians 2:7 (KJV)
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
In this day and age, we hear constantly that your reputation is everything. You're most likely to get that business deal or access to that connection because of good reputation. People will even spend money they don't have just to uphold a certain reputation.
In todays' scripture, we're told that our prime example; The Lord Jesus made himself of no reputation. It wasn’t people who made him lose his reputation by slandering him, no, he made himself of no reputation, he chose it. He was focused on doing the Fathers will and not that of those around him - he was focused on integrity.
As a Christian, you should have no reputation. Don't try to keep a reputation that keeps you looking good in the eyes of man yet your relationship with God is bad. Reputation is what man thinks of you, integrity is what God thinks of you. As long as God knows your heart that's what matters. Work on your relationship with your Father even more from this day – go even deeper. Integrity with Him is what counts!
