The National Park System recently updated its guideline on permits which now states: All commercial filming inside the National Park System requires a permit. Commercial filming means recording a movie image by a person, business, or other entity with the intent of generating income, specifically TikTok & Youtube.
Upon hearing this update, we had a huge discussion in our group chat which we thought we should take to the podcast. We discuss a little bit of the history regarding permits, how it can differ among countries and places in the world, and our thoughts regarding the topic.
Disclaimer: There is no right or wrong to this issue, things stated are just our opinions based on our experiences, we are all supportive of the NPS, and we all still love and support each other :)
Are you pro or against permits? It clearly is not black and white, so what limits, exceptions, or requirements do you think should be put in place? We would love to hear your thoughts!
