While this podcast is mostly focused on speaking to coaches, players, and parents, we believe another very important perspective for us to consider is the perspective of the official. They are as much a part of our amateur sports experience as are players, coaches, and parents. So, we brought an official onto the show to chat with us. Nathan Carroll is licensed in several sanctioning bodies to officiate multiple sports. He comes from a family of officials. He loves the game, and he loves officiating. Most importantly, he is dedicated to learning and becoming the best he can be, all for the sake of the athletes who want a good and fair experience playing the game.
We had a great time with Nathan, and we believe his perspective will help a lot of us to better understand the goal and purpose of those people we call ref, umpire, or official.
