Description

Joining us for Episode 9 is Austin Dunfee. Austin comes on the show to speak as one who fully understands the value of "development." Austin attended Shawnee State University. As a pitcher for the Bears, he still holds the University’s records for career wins (27), strikeouts in a season (82), and complete games in a season (13). During his time playing at Shawnee, his teams brought home one conference title and one championship title. Austin also played summer ball in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League for the Southern Ohio Copperheads, and in 2011 finished that summer season with a 0.48 ERA. After playing for the Copperheads, he had the privilege to work as an assistant coach for both, his alma-mater at Shawnee State and also the Copperheads. In the summer of 2019, he was honored to be named the head coach of the Copperheads, in which the team was just one game back from a playoff berth, finishing third in the South Division with a record of 23-18.

Austin has so much valuable information to share with us about the college recruiting process, what coaches are looking for, and where to best invest your time and energy if you are looking to get recruited to play college ball.
