Today I sat down with the incredible Dr. Shane Lentz, physical therapist, powerlifter, and all-around good human. In this episode, Shane recalled his experience with pain and packed how those incidents influenced his decision to become a physical therapist. The concept of physical therapy can be unfamiliar to many, and having the knowledge to navigate the process can be a stressful experience. Shane unpacks what it is, the type of clinicians available to you depending on your needs, helpful characteristics to be aware of when seeking one out, and the differences and similarities between physical therapy and strength and conditioning and how they coexist. Furthermore, Shane shares his training and how you’re never too good to have your own coach.
Shane earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2021. He founded Forever Athlete, LLC, a hybrid physical therapy model where he connects with his patients/clients remotely and in person. His mission is to help active people get back to the activities they love with an active approach.
