Isa sa mga pop-culture terms na nag popularize sa "Godzilla" or Gojira sa Japan. Kung hindi man, mas ginagamit ang mga kaiju as antagonistic trope sa mga tokusatsu or chikyuu sentai na palabas na tulad ng Power Rangers, Shaider, at iba pang mga earth defense force na mga kids TV show.
