The phoenix is a creature of myth, said to be continually reborn; but in the rebirth, the creature is caught up in flame and only reborn from the ashes. This series is rooted in that myth, in that those of us who have gone through the fire of abuse have faced a rebirth of a similar nature. Through flame and from ash, we are survivors. This month, we honor those stories by giving voice to the silenced.

A while ago, we did an episode titled "Silenced" and we told you that stories of abuse, particularly emotional abuse, are often twisted back on the victim who is then silenced by the abuser. We also told you that these stories need to be told. You deserve your voice to be heard.
This series is about giving voice to those stories. Some brave women have chosen to step forward. We understand that some of you may have similar stories and, for your safety, need to remain anonymous. We pledge that if you want your story heard, we will give it voice. You can send your personal story to info@reclaim.com and we will read it here, so that you and all the women who have endured this abuse can know that you are not alone and that your abuser doesn't get the final say.
