According to Layoffs.fyi, a website tracking the number of layoffs in the technology industry, the total annual number of tech employees impacted as of 11 October 2023, was at 240,089. This clearly surpasses the figure of 2022 which was 'only' about 165,000 – and mind you, 2023 isn't over yet. Hence, the 2023 figure might even increase further.
