Description

As Covid-19 continues to surge in Texas and several other states, Stephen Love of the DFW Hospital Council updates the current status in Segment 1, including a reinstatement of the one solution to getting North Texas back fully, which is to "wear a mask!"

For scientific validation of "wear a mask," we hear in our second and third segments from Robert Haley, M.D., Professor of Internal Medicine and Director of the Division of Epidemiology in the Internal Medicine Department at UT Southwestern Medical Center and holder of the U.S. Armed Forces Veterans Distinguished Chair for Medical Research Honoring America's Gulf War Veterans.

In Segment 2, Dr. Haley discusses the latest research and data indicating just how significant wearing face covering can be for preventing the spread of Covid-19. There is the latest, most up-to-date information from those who study community diseases like Covid-19, and Dr. Haley strongly advocates that face-covering should be our number one priority.

In the 3rd segment, we talk about what many North Texas families are discussing now - what will back-to-school look like? Dr. Haley has a wealth of information that every family with school-aged kids should hear.

Finally, Jason Isham from Children's Health joins us to talk about the Texas Child Access Through Telemedicine program (TCHATT) that will be available in many North Texas schools this fall. The TCHATT Program is designed to deliver telemedicine services to public school students experiencing a mental health crisis.
