Description

January is an interesting month--it can feel gray and bleak; we're often feeling low on energy after having just finished a busy season attempting to meet or exceed self-imposed expectations for the best holiday ever and we now feel the need to make resolutions to exercise more, drink less, eat healthier, organize our clutter...you name the resolution. Various sources show that the average American abandons their resolutions by about the third week of January.  This all adds up to more stress and anxiety--something we don't need on top of the added stress the pandemic has led to over the past (nearly) two years.  So...let's resolve not to resolve. Let's take a different approach this year.

My guest on this first podcast episode of the year, is Gina Constantini, licensed clinical social worker in private practice and board member for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness ) NEPA's Chapter. She reminds us that we are the pilot of our own life and only we can set the course for ourselves. And the best approach is to set do-able intentions and self-care actions that can realistically be practiced daily.
