The word "philanthropy" or "philanthropic" often conjures up images of black tie events, limos, and the naming of buildings but that notion--along with all remaining glass ceilings--needs to be shattered.
This week on my podcast I talk with Laura Ducceschi , president and CEO of The Scranton Area Community Foundation, about what philanthropy looks like for, by, and of women and how the Foundation is helping to connect women through its Women in Philanthropy program. We talk about how women can invest time and talent when monetary gifts may not be an available option and the value that networking with other women has.
We also take a broader look at some of the other initiatives the Foundation is working on to enrich the region of northeastern Pennsylvania through programs and resources to help nonprofits and so much more. Learn about the upcoming conference for nonprofits in September, how to donate to a fund (like The Humor Therapy Fund) and much more at the Foundation's website.
