It's that time of year. The nights and mornings get cooler and many folks start clamoring for pumpkin spice everything. And...it's time to head back to school for many.
For young women headed off to college, this is a time not to be paranoid, but it is a time to be prepared to ensure your personal safety. The time frame from August through about Thanksgiving is known as "the red zone," a period of time when students on campus are most vulnerable to sexual assault.
My guest this week, Margaret Pizer of Tsunami Self-Defense, talks with me about how young women (and women of every age) can be better prepared to keep themselves safe from assaults and what they can do if they are targeted. Learn about the training and workshops that Tsunami Self-Defense Systems offers at their website, and follow them on Facebook and Instagram for valuable information to protect yourself.
This is an important conversation that every college student (and every woman) should hear!
