What does community feel like to you? What does it mean?
While the pandemic showed us ways to connect with people across the world online, it took away the in-person fellowship and opportunities that build community like patronizing local restaurants and businesses, chatting with people you bump into in the grocery aisles or at a local art event or theater.
Thankfully, we're back out there reconnecting and will hopefully make our ties in the community even stronger going forward. Mother-daughter duo Elizabeth and Sabrina Rodriguez of Scranton are working hard to bring people together in Northeast PA through a variety of creative events and projects that embody everything that community should be. Friend them on Facebook or learn more about their projects through their page Giving Back to the Community.
If you're looking for additional ideas to create a sense of community in your neighborhood, look at what this woman is doing in Brooklyn through Perpetual Stew. Feeding the belly and human desire to connect with others!
