Description

Anyone who has ever flown has heard the line: In case of emergency put on your mask before assisting others. Makes sense right? I promote this idea when I lead stress-reducing laughter yoga sessions, reminding participants that if we do not take care of ourselves we cannot take care of anyone else.

Now imagine healthcare workers not getting the supplies or staff they need and becoming utterly exhausted but the amount of patients under their care continues to grow. How can they properly care for patients when turbulence has made their days too bumpy?

My guest this week is Jennifer Graham-Partyka, a career nurse who believes that nurse advocacy IS patient advocacy. That passion has led her to become active in grassroots movements to elect candidates to office who she believes will do right by nurses.

Join me for this conversation and let nurse Jen's passion ignite something in you.

Jen is on executive boards of the following organizations: Pennsylvania State Nurses Association and the Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania.

She is also a very proud Momma. Check out her daughter singer, songwriter Molly Edsell, whose music you can find on Apple Music. Her son Teagan Edsell's music on YouTube.

And see the work her son Brody is doing at Indraloka Animal Sanctuary as the Operations Assistant.
