Hailing from Port Orchard, Washington, USA, Mutch played football (soccer) as a kid, but her focus switched to roller derby at 14 years of age when she joined the Kitsap Derby Brats in 2007. After nearly four years there and a brief spell with a local 18-plus league, Mutch moved to Portland to attend college. Later in that same year of 2011, craving top-tier competition, she tried out for the Rose City Rollers just after her 19th birthday.
During 2014, Mutch and the Wheels of Justice won nine of their 10 regular-season games, moving up to second place in the WFTDA (Women's Flat Track Derby Assocaition) international rankings before going undefeated in the playoffs and losing out in the final to Gotham Girls Roller Derby.
Mutch was named MVP of the championships that year and more success followed when Rose City Rollers Wheels of Justice won the WFTDA title in 2015 and 2016 before finishing as runners-up in 2017, making it four straight final appearances.
