Jack Welch, the renowned former CEO of GE, has died. He was known as the manager of the century and literally made GE into a giant on Wall Street. His management practices were legendary. Imagine if he had been put in charge of government bureaucracy. He would fire 10% of the underperforming managers every year. Every department that did not meet standards would be fixed or closed. The chance of any of that is now buried.
