Sackcloth and ashes is an ancient Hebrew custom where people humbled themselves before God by wearing course cloth and covering their head with ashes. The church should be ashamed at closing their doors during the covid pandemic. They should have been open for counseling services, hospital overflow, testing facilities, beds, food, funerals, and much more. This was the time to show the world our “good works” as Christ called them in Sermon on the Mount.
