Description

While Derek Chauvin knelt on the neck of George Floyd, Tou Thao, an Asian American, was one of three officers who stood by and watched it happen. This is a modern parable of the perspective of most Asian Americans with regard to race relations in the US. While white supremacy continues to suppress the flourishing of Black Americans, Asian Americans tend to keep their heads down and try to maintain the status quo, attempting to function as a “model minority”. Andrew Wong helps Joel and Josh dig deep into the motivations and actions of Asians in the US, and offers helpful advice for a new generation that values societal change and racial equity.
