Description

Today's case takes us to Shady Palms, Illinois, a suburb about two hours outside of Chicago, where prodigal niece Lila Macapagal returns home to help her Tita Rosie in her restaurant that’s struggling to keep the lights on and the doors open.

But her plan to bring new life to her Aunt’s restaurant is put to a quick end when restaurant critic Derek Winter dies while eating lunch there—and Lila and her Aunt are suspects.

The murder of Derek Winter brings us into the darker side of Shady Palms, from schemes and scams to drug trafficking and police informants.

Today's episode is based on Arsenic and Adobo by Mia P. Manansala.
