Description

During the summer we often look for a place of rest and rebuilding of our souls. When I grew up on the farm, there were different seasons, but in the city it's always hyper drive. We need different seasons, and summer can provide a bit of a step back. When we think of a safe, rejuvenating place for summer, maybe a certain place comes to mind, a place devoid of certain stresses. Maybe we think of an environment where there aren't certain people and there are certain other ones, because our greatest stress often lies in relationships. And there's merit to all of that. Sometimes we really just need space from the stressful things that we're in, to think different thoughts for a bit. But even though there is merit in that, I think that we can do better when looking for a safe place for summer. I want to reflect on Psalm 91 regarding finding a safe place for summer and apply that to our lives. May God really bring encouragement to your heart.
