The book of Lamentations explains why Jerusalem was invaded and destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar. She was like a menstruous woman who committed sexual sins with her many lovers. Her filthiness was in her skirts.
So God punished Jerusalem with the rod of his wrath, killing young and old without pity, and forcing mothers to eat their children.
