Second Corinthians is thought to be a composite of at least two of Paul's letters. The first nine chapters are rather boring and of quite a different tone than the last four chapters - in which Paul brags about all the things he's done and threatens those who disagree with him.
Among all the bragging, though, Paul tells us something interesting about himself. A messenger of Satan put a thorn in his flesh to restrain him.
