Notre Dame Snaps Losing Streak to Louisville

Irish finish 2-1 on recent three game road swing

Louisville, Ky. – Freshman Blake Wesley scored a game high 22 points and the Irish shot a sizzling 63% from the field and 65% from 3-point range to defeat the Louisville Cardinals 82-70 Saturday in Louisville at the Yum Center.

Wesley led four Irish scorers in double-figure scoring as Notre Dame overcame a 45-38 deficit at the half to get the win.

With the win Notre Dame (12-6, 5-2 ACC) moves to a half game behind league leading Duke in conference play and defeated the Cardinals for the first time in nearly 7 years.

Joining Wesley in double figure scoring for the Irish were Dane Goodwin and Paul Atkinson, Jr. with 13 points each, while Prentiss Hubb added 12 points.

Louisville (11-8, 5-4 ACC) was led in scoring by Jarrod West, who scored 14 points in the loss.

Notre Dame hit 11 of their first 14 shots to open the game and, as a team, dished out 17 assists.

The Fighting Irish return home Wednesday, January 26th, to face the North Carolina State Wolfpack in ACC action.  The tip at 9:00 p.m. EST.
