Why would anyone want to practice lucid dreaming? It's simple, when you are able to stay lucid within your dreams, you can gain a lot of insight into your self awareness. You begin to realize that you're not so out of control as it may seem sometimes. You can also learn to expand your creativity. In dream land, you are not locked down with the "realities" of the awake realm. This gives you room to expand your consciousness and truly think outside of the box. You'll start to find innovative solutions to your day to day problems and begin to create a new and better reality for yourself.

3 Ways To Begin Lucid Dreaming:

  1. Keep Track: Journaling your dreams each morning can help you to recognize patterns. Whether it's a recurring dream, a constant animal, person, symbol or phrase that keeps showing up, or seeing the same numbers or colors. All of these things are signs that can help you interpret what you may need to focus on or pay attention to while you're awake.
  2. Reality Checking: You can do this by simply looking at your hands throughout the day. Say out loud as you notice all the fine details "these are my hands and I recognize them clearly" then before you go to bed look at your hands and say "These are my hands, I recognize them clearly. Tonight while I dream, I'll see my hands and realize that I am dreaming." Say this until you fall asleep and you will eventually begin to notice your hands while in a dream state and be able to practice lucid dreaming.
  3. Meditate: If you're not used to sitting in silence, try out some guided meditations that are meant for lucid dreaming. Listening to them as you go to sleep will enhance the chances of lucid dreaming by amping up your level of awareness and mindfulness.
