When you're able to remain in the present moment, you're able to let everything else fall away and just be. In this moment you're able to experience and become aware of your thoughts, feelings and sensations without judgment and you're able to tap into a space of acceptance for all that was, all that is and is still to come. The practice of remaining in the present moment can help reduce stress, find acceptance and develop a sense of pure clarity. You'll be able to live a full and fulfilling life as you begin to appreciate each and every moment and situation for what they are.
Ways To Remain Present:
1. Notice your surroundings. Start to name the things around your or feel the different textures in your general area. Creating a full sense of awareness in your current space. Tap into your senses. What do you hear, smell, feel... etc... Try doing this objectively and simply become the observer of your surroundings.
2. Find one thing to focus on that will allow everything else to fade away. I recommend finding a mindful breathwork practice that works best for you. Something to bring your awareness to at any time, any where. Maybe creating a mantra or affirmation for each inhale and exhale.
3. Be grateful for all that is, just as it is. Even if something is uncomfortable, think to yourself how grateful you are for whatever experience it is so that you can learn from and expand your consciousness from here on. Think of all the small things in your life that you are grateful for. Maybe it was the smile from the stranger at the gas station yesterday, or maybe you're so grateful for the opportunity to be a parent and guide this tiny human through this beautiful and limitless life.
