Have you ever wondered what self care actually was?? Most main stream media gives you the picture of a bathtub with candles and essential oils. Self care is soooo much more than that. It's taking care of your mind, body and soul so that you can show up and step into your full potential. It's a way to show yourself that you're worth your own time and energy and if you ask me it's Super underrated. It gives you a chance to get to know yourself without any outside influences. 

3 Ways To Practice Self Care:

1. Balance The Mind: Maybe repeating affirmations or mantras to yourself helps to clear your mind and balance your energy. I personally enjoy listening to uplifting and inspiring music or I actually listen to my own pep talks here in this podcast or over on youtube. It helps remind me of my power and what I'm capable of achieving. 

2. Balance The Body: Balancing the body will look different for everyone. For some it means getting their ass into the gym for the most hard core kickboxing class around. For others it's planting their ass in the couch and letting their body rest from all the running around they do on the normal day to day basis. I prefer yoga and dancing around the house with my youngins.

3. Balance The Spirit: For a lot of people this one gets set off to the wayside and forgotten. So whether you feed your spirit by joining a congregation of some sort in your area or by disappearing into a dark corner to meditate, find what works best for you and be sure, I think if I were to say there was a most important one here, this would be it. If you're new to meditation, I suggest starting with guided meditations, then eventually dissolve the guide and just use music or binaural tones, then eventually try to make your way to complete silence and no stimulation. You'll be amazed once you get into it!
