This week, we have our first interview with Visual Arts Educator and Advocate, Anthony Hurlburt, who describes his experiences with Visual Thinking Strategies in the visual arts classroom.
Anthony describes his journey to becoming a visual arts educator and the events that led him to using Visual Thinking Strategies. He also talks about the importance of observing not only visual art but all fine arts with a critical perception. Although Visual Thinking Strategies is a valid and useful process for Visual Art, it can also be used among other fine arts disciplines as well.
Anthony continues to discusses the different methods of fine arts teaching, and how Visual Thinking Strategies can be applied in multiple contexts. VTS offers the opportunity to voice opinions about artworks at a high academic level, enticing deeper meaning and higher engagement from students.
