When you hear the word "mercy" what comes to mind? The dictionary defines it this way: "Compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one's power to punish or harm." Mercy implies that a wrong has been committed. Mercy isn't a right - it's a grace. But, again, that implies there is a Grace-Giver.
